Review:
I did not see that one coming, but the tears sure did run when he did one of the sweetest things ever for Ash. I won’t say what he did because there’s nothing worse than spoilers, but I will say I absolutely loved that part in the book. I honestly had to take a moment to let the tears flow because Winston really caught me off guard. Damn you and your sweet gestures, Winston Constantine.
I loved that this book showed that there is SO much more to Winston than his good looks, his grumpy slash charming personality and his kinky side. Underneath the cold, grumpy exterior is a good guy. Yes, he has his kinks that are not for most BUT it doesn’t make him a bad person. He wants what he wants and Ash is more than happy to give it to him. But what starts as a business deal between the two slowly becomes more in this book. Winston’s adamant that’s not the case but no matter how much he wants to deny he has feelings for Ash, he shows over and over again with his actions that he cares for her in more ways than one. But will it be enough in the end or will outside forces tear them apart? I wish I could tell you all but sadly we all have to wait for book three to find out. *sobs* April can’t get here soon enough.
Overall, I give this story 4.5 stars because I felt this book was more of a retelling than the first book and did such a great job incorporating things we would all recognize from Cinderella. I also just really loved this book more because it allowed me to get to know and love Winston on a deeper level and I can’t wait to see what happens with him and Ash in the next book. Can April just get here already? I need more Winston in my life. Please and thank you. XD
